Yield!

I spoke at Howick Christian City Church on Sunday. The theme was YIELDING. Jesus said, "If a man compels you to go a mile, go with him two." So we should yield to others. When we yield pressure is reduced. We are not turning ourselves into a door mat. We are committing our situation to God trusting that he will work.

Our challenge is to let go of all the fixing and manipulating of others and our situations and let God work.

GOD IS GOOD

“Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights…” James 1:17

"God works all things together for the good of those who love Him..." Romans 8:28

I wrote these thoughts a number of years ago now. But they still make perfect sense today...

God is good! So often at the centre of our worry and frustration is the belief that God isn’t actually going to do good in our lives. Sure ‘bad’ things might happen, but for those who are His children that is not the end of it. God will work that thing which is bad out for good. He is so good that He doesn’t just do good things in our lives, He does the best. I remember the day that He spoke to me and said, “Not only can I do good, not only do I want to do good, but I will do good in your life.” I had a revelation of His goodness and I haven't been the same since.
